The Birds of Port Meadow

by Adam Hartley

This checklist comprises 32 pages and describes the 96 bird species that have been seen in this popular site on the edge of Oxford and alongside the River Thames. Port Meadow regularly floods during the winter months which attracts many birds during this period. A map of the area and the juxtaposition of Burgess Field, a small nature reserve, and The Trap Grounds is included in the booklet and a description of the area plus the influence of the flooding is described. There are 70 black and white and colour photos of some the birds that have been recorded.
